GSC Executives

From generic corporate imagery to a distinctive, systemised visual identity

THE CLIENT

GSC Executives is an executive recruitment consultancy working across construction and other specialist sectors. Its work depends on credibility, discretion and an ability to build trusted relationships with both businesses and senior candidates.

THE CHALLENGE

GSC needed a more distinctive identity that could communicate the authority expected of an executive search consultancy without appearing remote or overly corporate. The brand had to feel professional and assured, but also approachable enough to reflect the business’s personal, relationship-led nature. The challenge extended beyond creating a new logo. GSC needed a coherent brand foundation and visual language that could be applied consistently across its communications as the business developed.

OUR THINKING

The project required more than a logo change. GSC needed a visual language that could distinguish the business while preserving the credibility and stakeholder trust essential to executive search. We began by establishing clear visual guardrails: authority without remoteness, confidence without corporate predictability, and relevance to the built environment without relying on literal construction imagery. We earned creative authority through restraint first and experimentation second. Logo and palette development established a credible foundation before we gradually introduced a more distinctive visual language. Generative AI became an accelerated exploration and prototyping layer within this process. It allowed us to develop architectural abstractions that connected GSC to construction, engineering, and infrastructure while avoiding the generic photographs of offices, handshakes, and city skylines common in recruitment. The objective was not to create a collection of unrelated images, but a repeatable visual grammar that could scale consistently across different communications.

THE RESPONSE

Zuluspice developed a complete visual identity centred on a confident, contemporary logo and a flexible supporting design system. The dividing line within the identity introduced structure and distinction while reinforcing ideas of connection, progression and professional focus. We extended the visual language across presentations, LinkedIn graphics, newsletters, and other business communications. We also developed a consistent approach to imagery, including carefully directed AI-generated visuals, giving GSC access to distinctive brand imagery without relying on generic recruitment photography. Together, these elements created a recognisable and adaptable system rather than a logo used in isolation.

THE RESULT

The client enthusiastically received the completed identity, and it has given GSC Executives a coherent visual foundation for its communications. The client described the rebrand as creating “a friendlier executive search business” and praised the meticulous process for going beyond simply selecting “logos and colours.” GSC has since applied the identity across its communications and used the visual system to create its own website. This demonstrates the brand’s practical flexibility: it provides enough structure to maintain consistency while allowing the business to develop and manage its communications independently.

TESTIMONIAL

Absolute pleasure working with Ludwig and the great team at Zuluspice to rebrand GSC Executives. A friendlier executive search business, being presented with something that married that with refined branding, has been brilliant. Really reflects the meticulous steps the designers used to approach this project and would recommend to anyone looking for more than logos and colours in their rebrands — thank you.
